Group 1 winner Egg Tart remains an outright $3.30 favourite in 2017 Queensland Oaks betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au, ahead of Kenedna ($4.80), Dawn Wall and Ana Royale; currently sharing the third line at $7.50 quotes.

Will Egg Tart justify favouritism and win the Queensland Oaks, or will one of her rivals post an upset?

1st

Oklahoma Girl ($9.50)

Oklahoma Girl is set to carry plenty of upside into the Queensland Oaks, will relish a step up to 2200m and represents terrific value at a $9.50 quote to win the Group 1 feature. Resuming for a credible third in a Newcastle minor over 1350m on March 25th, the Fastnet Rock filly posted consecutive wins in the Vancouver @ Coolmore BM67 (1600m) and Atc Heritage Centre BM78 (1700m) through April. Third amongst classy company at Rosehill on May 6th, Oklahoma Girl savaged the line for a close second in the Group 2 The Roses (2000m) at Doomben a fortnight. Blake Shinn will take the ride on Oklahoma Girl in the Queensland Oaks from the ideal barrier 7.

2nd

Shenandoah ($19)

Shenandoah is bred to get the trip in the Queensland Oaks, has been competitive this time in and has the notable advantage of champion hoop Damien Oliver in the saddle. A strong and consistent performer in a host of Victorian minor races through autumn, the Darci Brahma filly worked to the line well to finish second in The Roses last time out, after leading the race in transit. Drawn ideally to find the early pace from barrier 3, Shenandoah will prove tough to run down if she has a lead on her rivals when the field straightens.

3rd

Egg Tart ($3.30)

Egg Tart is arguably the class horse of this Queensland Oaks field, but has had plenty of time between runs and is subsequently against the history books on Saturday afternoon. Posting three-consecutive and dominant wins in races in New South Wales and Victoria upon resuming this time, the Sebring filly flew home to win the Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) last time out on May 6th. Having performed well in a Rosehill barrier trial last week, trainer Chris Waller is thrilled with the filly’s condition and has booked in-form hoop Kerrin McEvoy to retain the ride in the Queensland Oaks.
