Winx ($2.70) has returned to racing in exceptional form this season and has maintained status as clear favourite in 2015 Queensland Derby betting markets at Ladbrokes.com.au all week ahead of Bohemian Lily ($4.40) and Sebrina ($8).

Will Winx justify favouritism and post a maiden win at the highest level in the 2015 Queensland Oaks or will one of her classy rivals find the line in the clear?

Winx ($2.70)

Winx is without doubt the standout filly confirmed in the 2015 Queensland Oaks field and is more than worth consideration at current odds, but will need some luck in transit from barrier 13. Confirmed to be partnered by Hugh Bowman this time, the daughter of Street Cry won the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) first-up in spring; progressing to close seconds in each of the Group 2 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) and Group 1 Flight Stakes (1600m). Having found form this time when winning the Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) on March 14th, Winx has since placed fifth in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m), second in the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) and won the Group 3 Sunshine Coast Guineas (1600m).

Col ‘N’ Lil ($34)

Classy local Col ‘N’ Lil is a noted pace horse, has performed well in the traditional lead-up to the 2015 Queensland Oaks and offers punters incredible value for money at current $34 odds to win or $7 to finish in the first three. Taking out the Park View Motel Handicap (1300m) first-up on March 28th, the daughter of Bradbury’s Luck ran second in her next two starts including the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m). Having since finished fourth in the Listed Princess Stakes (2000m) and second in the Group 2 The Roses (2000m), Col ‘N’ Lil has been confirmed to be partnered by Luke Tarrant and will get a dream run from barrier 5.

Platinum Witness ($21)

A Group 1 winner in her native New Zealand, Platinum Witness only managed sixth in The Roses last weekend but is sure to take valuable condition from the run in the Queensland Oaks. Posting four wins and a further seven minors over 15 career starts, the California Dane returned this time for success in the Group 3 Desert Gold Stakes (1600m) on January 24th; booking a trip to the Brisbane Winter Carnival when running second in the Group 1 New Zealand Oaks (2400m) on March 14th.
