Trainer Chris Waller is set to be offered three good chances of success in the 2015 Queensland Oaks after including Ballet Suite, Winx and Wine Tales in nominations.

Stamping her claims as one to watch over the Autumn Carnival, Ballet Suite boxed on for a commendable fourth in the Group 1 Vinery Stud Stakes (2000m) and was luckless when blocked for a run late and eighth in the Group 1 Australian Oaks (2400m) most recently.

Arguably Waller’s best chance of success in the 2015 Queensland Oaks, Winx is a two time Stakes winner having taken out the Group 2 Furious Stakes (1200m) and Group 2 Phar Lap Stakes (1500m) and will enter the feature off the back of a close second in the Australian Oaks most recently.

Waller is yet to decide on whether or not Wine Tales will travel to Brisbane for the 2015 Queensland Oaks but will likely use results from Saturday’s Group 1 Australasian Oaks (2000m) in Adelaide determine her path.

David Vandyke saddled Arabian Gold to a close second in the 2014 edition of the Queensland Oaks and will be hoping to go one better in late May after including La Speciale and Sprout in nominations.

Having contested just two competitive race starts so far, La Speciale stamped her claims as a potential Oaks filly when comfortably taking out her racing debut in early December.

Bred to perform well at running distances over 2000m, Sprout has debuted to racing for consecutive third place finishes and looks likely to continue to perform should she head to Brisbane.

Kansas Sunflower has found exceptional form since returning to racing this time and will be a leading chance for success should she head to Brisbane for the 2015 Queensland Oaks.

Geared towards Saturday’s Australasian Oaks, Kansas Sunflower has won a pair of minor Victorian event and placed a close second in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes (1800m) most recently.

Allocated the wide and awkward barrier 20 for her next run, trainer Luke Oliver may deem the 2014 Queensland Oaks a viable option should his runner be unable to figure this weekend.

Interestingly, interstate raiders dominate the 2015 Queensland Oaks nominations however the Kelly Schweida-trained Glorious Red looks capable of keep the title north of the border.

Having posted two wins and as many minor place finishes through her 13 career so far, the Red Element filly has found great form over recent starts and placed fourth in the Listed Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) over the weekend.
