The nominations for the 2011 Queensland Oaks show that there’s a very strong field in the making for this Saturday at Eagle Farm.

Scarlett Lady will be the favourite after her last start dominance in The Roses but the race certainly changes over a 2400m journey at Eagle Farm.

Not only is the track and distance different but so too the tempo of the race with a few new horses thrown into the mix.

Potentially the biggest inclusion is Fillydelphia which beat the boys in the Rough Habit Stakes two starts back.

While she could only finish fourth in her last run that was again against colts and geldings so she’s in great shape to grab a win at Eagle Farm this weekend.

Another big threat to Scarlett Lady is fellow kiwi Shez Sinsational.

She’s in tremendous shape according to all reports and with some decent recent form under her belt Allan Sharrock believes she’s a real chance at looming up in the final 100m.

The invasion doesn’t stop there either, wearing the Silver Fern of New Zealand will be Fibrillation for Tim Martin.

She ran very well against quality company down in Sydney during the Autumn and came agonisingly close to  Group 1 success.

Martin believes the competition isn’t as strong in Brisbane and he’s extremely confident she’ll run even better if she can get a dry track.

Turning heads with her last run was you guessed it, another kiwi, Heidilicious for John Sadler.

After starting the race poorly she made up ground late at Doomben and the wider straight at Eagle Farm will no doubt help her significantly.

The final one you can’t overlook though is Divorces for Peter Snowden.

She couldn’t match the winner in The Roses but Snowden thinks she can handle the step up in trip and a new race plan will help her a lot.

Expect her to be no closer than midfield and to run home hard late with Snowden hoping she can switch off and relax among horses further back.
